Dear Camp Fire Alums, The final plans are about to be secured for an Alaskan Cruise, sometime in August 2010. Please join us for a grand celebration of Camp Fire's 100th birthday, as we travel from Seattle, to Vancouver, Canada and on into the coastal towns of southwest Alaska. The world's most breathtaking scenery will glide past as we view bald eagles, whales, and with some luck, bears too! While on board we have some fun activities planned, in addition to all the opportunities ship's staff will have planned. Here is your chance to share your Camp Fire memories with other's from around the country. Bring your old Camp Fire scrapbook and spend time repairing them, and for many, finish them. We hope the musicians among us will bring their guitars and song books. Even though we may have somewhat different words to the same songs, we cannot gather without singing. Plans are under way for a service project. Edith Kempthorne brought Camp Fire to Alaska, and we will find a way to honor this great lady. As soon as the cruise line makes 2010 dates in August available, we will block out some rooms for Camp Fire alums, and their families. We cannot block many rooms, but once these are sold, we may have more rooms, if more are available. Making a prompt deposit will allow us to ask for more rooms. Please get the word out that a cruise is one great way to celebrate our 100th birthday. I have posted pictures of some of the things one might see on this cruise.
